Life with the Sun

Morning All

Well I have not been able to get out over the last few days through one thing or another. I was busy on Wednesday and in the evening a friend came round. Yesterday I was shopping and last night it was club night.

Now it is Friday and the sun is really bright so I moved the telescope outside to take a look at a new sunspot 1195 which is enormous and posses a threat as it is pointing this way.

Sunspot 1193 is turning away from us and will be out of sight in a day or two.

Sunspot 1195 is not far from the eastern limb and id rotating our way.

Sunspot 1193 starting to rotate towards the western limb and out of sight

For those not in the know telescopes (Astro type) take picture upside down and revered left to right.

  2. Yup this morning there was picture of St Paul's taken through a lot of murk in the paper.
It is not too bad here but at Canterbury it was only good for planets, we couldn't find and deep sky stuff. We did see the ISS go over when we first arrived.

I hope you are all having a good time over Easter.
