Thursday again Part Two

The continuing story.

Some of the birds will just stay where they are if you keep walking but when you stop they tend to walk or fly off.
Some will just carry on with what they are doing. Most of these did just that.

Watching
This Gull kept his eye on me as I kept stopping to take his picture.

Colony
This colony is not that far out and there are loads of gulls each side of this creek.

Egret
Just look at the size of his wingspan it looks like it maybe 6 feet or more, lovely bird in flight.

Large wingspan
From this angle I not sure if this is an Egret but by the wingspan it is too big for a Gull

Taken near the sun
I can't make out what this bird is but it could be a Crow. The Park is on the edge of farm land.

Landed
These are quite hard shots to take because of the shutter time, these birds seem to hover at the last moment and then they are down. It is like they know what you are trying to do.

Wind  up your six
This bird is trying to feed but every time he bends down the wind ruffles his tail feathers. A still picture can't show what really happened you need a video camera. It was funny to watch.

One last thing, last evening I left the house at 8:00pm and as I walk down the drive I looked back to see a really stunning sunset. I was temped to go back for the camera but it only lasted a few minutes. It was a real red from south through west to north. Not a deep red but more a light one. It had gone by the time I had crosses the road.

That is all, I hope to get out tomorrow if the weather is kind to me.
Enjoy

  2. Thanks Chris,
Thee was not enough time to set the camera up for the sunset, but it was lovely.

Mike I am off to try the new lens out for real, wish me luck and I hope to tell the story tonight.
